Newsletter 1st Quarter 2011

February 9, 2011

The 2011 first quarter meeting of the Moorings Homeowner’s Association was held Tuesday, February 8. There being no new volunteers to assume Board duties, the 2010 Board of Directors will remain in place for the coming year.  Please consider taking an active role in your neighborhood governance.  We are in need of new officers, renewed enthusiasm and fresh ideas to keep The Moorings prospering.

The 2011 budget was presented and approved.  The new budget is based upon the same number of assessments paid last year. We hope to see that number increase as the economy improves.  Invoices for the 2011 maintenance assessment will be mailed within the next two weeks. Please refer to your invoice for payment options. We are happy to work out a payment schedule that fits your situation.

We passed an aggressive budget for 2011, with plans to continue improving and updating the subdivision entrance, islands and common grounds.  We welcome feedback and suggestions but we can only continue the work if assessments are paid in a timely manner.  With your invoice you’ll receive a survey asking for ideas on where your money should be spent. We hope this will inspire increased financial support for these projects.

A neighborhood workday is planned for Saturday, April 30, 8:00AM-Noon.  We are compiling a list of spring maintenance chores to be done.  If you are willing to help, call Roy Clanton, (770-972-8206).

Our next Homeowner’s meeting will be held at the Recreation Area, Saturday, May 14, from 11:00AM until 2:00PM.  We will discuss proposals and bids for landscape projects  and give new keys to the rec area to all homeowners who are current on their 2011 assessments.  Afterwards we’ll have a cookout for the entire neighborhood. The HoA will supply hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, drinks, buns & condiments. We ask you NOT to bring any alcoholic beverages.  ALL children attending must be accompanied by a parent who is a Moorings resident.  If you can volunteer to help with set up, clean up or cooking, call Kerney Hall (770-972-0084) or Jeannie Mangham (770-979-4729).

Spring is on the way!
